The Morrison Government is helping businesses get National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)-ready with $8.8 million available through the second round of NDIS Transition Assistance Funding.
There are 440 grants, worth up to $20,000 each, available in this latest round.
Minister for the National Disability Insurance Scheme, Stuart Robert, said the Morrison Government is committed to building a sustainable NDIS provider market that is ready to support the needs of participants now and long into the future.
‘These grants are designed to help providers transition to the NDIS while also creating more jobs in the disability and aged care sectors, particularly within regional, rural and outer metropolitan areas across Australia.
‘We are investing in programs such as NDIS Transition Assistance Funding that support providers to transition and develop their workforces, which will require an additional 90,000 full-time equivalent employees to meet the demand for NDIS services by 2023.
‘It is vital we support a strong and well-skilled provider market to deliver the services that NDIS participants need.
‘I particularly encourage Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander service providers, providers delivering to remote locations or other areas where there are NDIS service gaps, known as thin markets, to apply.’
The second round of Transition Assistance Funding is open now and will close at 11:59pm AEDT on Friday 8 November 2019.
NDIS Transition Assistance Funding can be used by business to purchase tailored business supports, including professional services, software or customer management systems upgrades and other infrastructure to assist providers to succeed in the NDIS’s consumer-driven model.
