The Attorney-General, Senator the Hon Michaelia Cash, has appointed Mr Michael Hawkins AM as Registrar of the AAT.
Mr Hawkins’ appointment will start on Thursday 14 April 2022, for a period of five years.
Mr Hawkins graduated with a Bachelor of Laws with Honours from the Queensland University of Technology in 1983 and worked for private legal firms from 1984-1994.
He later served as CEO of Australian Multiplex Cinemas, Executive Director of the National Association of Cinema Operators – Australasia and board member of Screen Australia.
Since 2016, Mr Hawkins has served as a part-time Member in the Refugee and Migration Division.
