The Albanese Government has appointed Mr Mark Friezer and Ms Paula Tallon Bennett as part‑time members of the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB).
The TPB is the national body responsible for the registration and regulation of tax practitioners.
Mr Friezer has been a consultant since 2022 and has previous experience as a partner at Clayton Utz and Vice President at Deutsche Bank.
Ms Tallon Bennett founded Salann Tax in 2022 and has previous experience as a director at Prosperity Advisers Group, a managing partner at Markel Tax and partner at BDO UK.
These appointments will continue the high level of skills and experience available to the TPB, to continue to strengthen the TPB and to help improve the integrity of the industry by ensuring tax practitioners are meeting the appropriate standards of professional and ethical conduct.
