City of Parramatta Council has adopted its draft Operational Plan and Budget for 2020/21, securing the delivery of key community projects and services over the next 12 months.
The plan, known as Year Three of the Delivery Program 2018-2021, details how Council will implement its core services, activities, programs and projects, as well as the budgets, fees and charges to support their delivery.
“Parramatta is forging ahead with its incredible transformation and this plan sets the foundations needed to support our diverse and growing community,” City of Parramatta Lord Mayor Cr Bob Dwyer said.
“It is crucial that Council manages the delivery of projects and services responsibly and effectively, particularly as we navigate our way out of the COVID-19 crisis.”
Key to Council’s plan is a $227.1 million capital expenditure budget to deliver major strategic projects for the community, including Parramatta Square, the Aquatic and Leisure Centre in Parramatta Park, the Epping Aquatic Centre redevelopment as part of the Dence Park Masterplan, stage one of the Phillip Street Smart Street transformation, the Parramatta Urban Amenity Improvement Program and the City River Works Program to revitalise the Parramatta River.
The Budget also identifies several immediate and long-term saving measures to address a shortfall in revenue caused by COVID-19, ensuring Council remains financially viable and can continue to provide vital infrastructure and services for the community.
Council reviews the Operational Plan and Budget annually to ensure activities are on track with its Delivery Program and priority goals.
