APS wins ICP2028 Melbourne bid

The world’s largest gathering of psychologists will be hosted in Melbourne after a successful bid from the Australian Psychological Society to host the International Congress of Psychology in 2028.

The APS’ bid, made partnership with the Melbourne Convention Bureau (MCB), and with support from the Victorian Government, will attract over 5,000 delegates from around the world and is anticipated to deliver in excess of $39.2 million to the local economy.

ICP is the largest and most influential psychological event in the world. Every four years thousands of psychologists come together in the host city to take part in a full scientific and social program.

ICP2028 will explore Brain, Mind, World, with two key themes running throughout: First Nations’ psychology, and effective approaches to human health.

With this success comes great opportunities for psychology and our country.

Psychology has grown tremendously in the 40 years since Australasia last hosted an ICP event, and the APS is looking forward to showcasing what psychology can achieve locally and internationally.

The APS is incredibly grateful to the Melbourne Convention Bureau for their investment and support in this important bid. It’s a win for Melbourne, and a win for Australian psychologists.
