Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery today announced the appointment of architectural firm Armstrong Collective to lead the design and planning of Yanchep Secondary College’s Stage 3 development.
Students and their families will soon see the vision for the school’s two new double-storey teaching blocks, with the $1 million design project set to be completed in August this year.
The design will include contemporary mathematics and English learning areas, complementing the school’s already impressive classroom facilities.
Stage 2 of the $57.2 million Yanchep Secondary College was officially opened in September last year, marking the completion of a 2021 election commitment for funding the design.
Since then, staff and students have been benefiting from a new arts building, which includes performing arts, music, visual arts and media areas, as well as a lecture theatre.
Almost $90 million has been invested in significant improvements to Yanchep’s three schools – Yanchep Secondary College, Yanchep Rise Primary School and Yanchep Lagoon Primary School – in a major boost for public education in the rapidly growing area.
As stated by Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery:
“The third stage of the building program at Yanchep Secondary College will deliver more high-quality learning opportunities for students in the form of impressive new double-storey teaching blocks with mathematics and English learning areas.
“Yanchep has never had access to such high-quality public education facilities.
“With the design and planning of the project getting underway, I look forward to seeing what the architect has in store for this thriving local community.”

“This is a key milestone for Stage 3 of the Yanchep Secondary College development, which is set to add modern maths and English learning areas to the significant upgrades already completed at the school.
“The new facilities for Yanchep Secondary College are part of our plan to build the north and will help the school deliver the highest quality education for its students – I can’t wait to see this latest stage of the project come to life.”
