Are You Over 55 And Need Some Tech Help?

Do you have questions about how to use your phone, tablet or laptop? Are you feeling confused about the different programs and apps and would like a little help?

Mornington Peninsula Shire’s Libraries are teaming up with not-for-profit group Lively to offer free personalised tech help sessions to over 55s.

This program not only offers a fun and accessible environment for you to learn new skills and get excited about technology, but it also provides young people with meaningful employment while getting to connect and learn from older people in our community.

Tech can sometimes be scary, particularly if you didn’t grow up with it. But our one-on-one sessions offer a safe space to overcome your tech anxiety and grow your digital skills – all at a pace that suits you.

Our friendly ‘tech-xperts’ can help you with all your tech-related needs, including:

  • setting up your smartphone
  • using FaceTime to call your grandchildren
  • checking and sending emails or text messages
  • watching movies on your device
  • downloading and using apps such as MyGov, Medicare and MyAgedCare
  • and much, much more.

This program is funded by the Shire’s Positive Ageing budget and is just one of many programs offered by the Shire to engage our older community and improve their digital literacy.

Tech help sessions are running at Hastings, Mornington, Rosebud and Somerville Libraries until 24 June 2024.

Sessions are free, but bookings are essential. Limit of two sessions per week, per person.
