Armed robbery appeal at Rockhampton

Rockhampton detectives have released CCTV footage as they appeal to the public for assistance in relation to the armed robbery of a liquor store in Berserker on Monday January 17.

At approximately 7pm two males entered the Musgrave Street store, taking several bottles of liquor before attempting to leave without paying.

The store’s attendant, a 34-year-old man, closed the shop’s gate in an attempt to stop the pair from leaving.

One of the male then threw a bottle at the attendant, narrowly missing him, before the other male hit him in the head with a bottle.

The pair then fled on foot, towards Little Musgrave Street.

Paramedics treated the victim on scene for a minor head injury.

The offenders are described as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander in appearance, believed to be aged in their mid to late teens, with a slim build. Both were wearing dark coloured clothing, caps and had their faces covered

Police are urging anyone with information or relevant dashcam / CCTV footage from the area at the time, to come forward.
