Armed robbery appeal in Aitkenvale, QLD

Townsville detectives are appealing for public assistance to help identify a man involved in an attempted armed robbery in Aitkenvale on Sunday, March 19.

Initial investigations indicate at approximately 9.30pm, a male wearing a face covering and gloves has entered a Nathan Street service station.

He has then approached a staff member and demanded money, threatening him with a knife before leaving on foot.

He is described as Caucasian in appearance, approximately 20-years-old with an athletic build.

Nothing was taken from the store and no one was physically injured.

Police would like to speak to the drivers of a red SUV and a white Holden Commodore sedan that were parked at the service station at the time.

Other witnesses, including two people who were inside the service station shortly prior to the incident, are also urged to contact police.
