Arrest by Joondalup Detectives for multiple offences

Joondalup Detectives have charged three males aged 14, 14 and 23, in relation to an aggravated armed robbery incident in Joondalup on 5 June 2021.

About 6am, the victim, a 68-year-old man, was in his parked white Volkswagen Multivan in a carpark near Boas Avenue and Davidson Terrace in Joondalup whilst waiting for a coffee.

It is alleged the males surrounded the van and one who was armed with a large knife demanded the victim hand over his keys. The males fled in the stolen van which also contained all the man’s personal belongings. The victims was left stranded in an area he was not familiar with and was assisted by members of the public.

It is further alleged during the investigation into this incident by Joondalup Detectives, it was identified the three males were also linked to an extensive series of home and commercial burglaries in the Joondalup, Girrawheen and Balga areas.

Between them, the males have been charged with 18 offences relating to Aggravated Armed Robbery; Aggravated Burglary and Stealing; Aggravated Home Burglary and Stealing; Burglary with Intent; Fraud; Attempt Steal Motor Vehicle; and Stealing offences. They are due to appear in court in the coming weeks.
