Arrest – Criminal offending – Greater Darwin Region

Northern Territory Police have arrested four youths in relation to a crime series across great Darwin over the weekend.

Just before 1:00am on 25 February, police received a report of an unlawful entry on a business premises along Osgood Drive in Eaton, in which a Kia Stonic was confirmed stolen.

A short time later, the stolen motor vehicle was used in an attempted ram raid of a separate business along Bagot Road in Millner, as well as an attempted robbery on a business in Casuarina, an unlawful entry at a business in Coolalinga and multiple fuel thefts.

The group of offenders were also involved in a second vehicle, a Jeep Compass, being stolen from a residence in Rapid Creek.

The stolen Jeep was then involved in three pursuits with police on the evening of the 25 February into the morning of 26 February, with each pursuit being terminated due to the dangerous manner of driving from the stolen vehicle.

Strike Force Trident were tasked to the job for a safe resolution, with Tyre Deflation Devices being deployed along McMillan’s Road where all occupants of the vehicle were arrested without incident.

The four youths, aged 13 and 14, have been charged with multiple property offences and remain in custody.

Detectives from Strike Force Trident conducted extensive investigations into the entirety of the offending and identified a further six offenders from the group who also had varying involvements in the crime series.

Investigations are ongoing to locate the further offenders.
