Arrest of Rebels OMCG Member

Officers from the Organised Crime Gangs Group have charged a member of the Rebels OMCG and a woman with multiple offences after yesterday executing a search warrant at a Logan Village address, locating and seizing a range of items including two firearms, various firearm parts and ammunition, counterfeit currency and three stolen motor vehicles.

Police also located and seized a stolen forklift, illicit cigarettes valued at approximately $15,000 and approximately $9500 cash. A large amount of Rebels OMCG clothing was also located.

Police issued a 36-year-old man and Rebels OMCG member and a 26-year-old woman with a Notice to Appear for possessing dangerous drugs. The man was also charged with one count each of unlawful possession of a firearm and explosives. The woman was also charged with one count of possession of drug utensils. Investigations are continuing, and further charges are expected.

The offenders will appear in Beenleigh Magistrate Court on December 4.

The Rebels OMCG is an identified organisation under the Liquor Regulation 2002.

“It is always concerning when members of an identified organisation such as the Rebels OMCG are found in possession of firearms, counterfeit currency, stolen property and drugs, however we remain determined to investigate their involvement in serious and organised crime and this is yet another example of the hard work taking place by members of the Organised Crime Gangs Group on a daily basis,” Acting Detective Inspector Ian Galpin said.
