Arrests and Charges – Aggravated robbery in Darwin CBD

Northern Territory Police have arrested and charged four males with aggravated robbery which occurred in the Darwin CBD on Sunday 20 October, 2019.

In the early hours of Sunday morning, a 43-year-old male was walking home when he was approached by four unknown males who demanded money and cigarettes.

When the man refused the four unknown males repeatedly assaulted him, knocking him to the ground. The group then stole his bum-bag, which contained his wallet and mobile phone, before fleeing the location.

Serious Crime Squad Detectives have arrested and charged the four males, aged between 18 and 23 years, with aggravated robbery in relation to this incident.

The men will appear at the Darwin Local Court as follows:

  • An 18-year-old male has been remanded in custody until 30 October, 2019;
  • An 18-year-old and a 23-year-old male have been remanded in custody until 4 December, 2019; and
  • A 19-year-old male has been bailed until 4 December, 2019.
