Arrests – Stealing with violence – Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police have apprehended two female youths in relation to disturbances reported in Alice Springs CBD yesterday.

Around midday, police received multiple reports of a group of youths causing a disturbance at Alice Plaza and Yeperenye Shopping Centre. Members from Strike Force Viper were in the vicinity and approached the youths. Two females were taken into custody, and subsequently identified as allegedly being involved in additional offending that remains under investigation.

The two females were conveyed to Alice Springs Hospital for medical assessment relating to the offending. Both youths were subsequently released from hospital and will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act 2005.

Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incidents from yesterday to make contact on 131 444 and please quote reference NTP2400035549.
