What if you could give a dead tree a second chance at life as habitat for native birds and animals?
The Central West Councils Environment & Waterways Alliance is doing just that, by funding the installation of artificial hollows in dead trees and branches across the region.
A crew from OS Trees was in north Orange on Friday 23 April, cutting artificial hollows into suitable trees to provide our native wildlife with shelter, somewhere to nest and protection from predators.
The artificial hollows will provide vital habitat for our native wildlife for many years to come.
