Assault appeal in Fortitude Valley, QLD

Detectives have released footage of a man who they believe may be able to assist their investigations into the assault of a woman last month in Fortitude Valley.

Around 2:20pm on Tuesday, October 27 the man was walking north along Harcourt Street between Brunswick and James Streets when he pushed the woman, who was walking in the opposite direction, up against a tree and assaulted her.

The woman managed to push the man away and ran to a nearby convenience store on Brunswick Street.

The man followed the woman for a short time but was last seen walking on Kent Street towards James Street.

The man is described as Caucasian, around 30-50 years old, solid build with dark short hair wearing a dark coloured singlet, black board shorts, white shoes and has a tribal tattoo on his left shoulder.

Investigators are appealing to anyone who knows the man’s identity, or may have witnessed the incident, to contact police.
