Assault at Anstey Hill, South Australia

Police have arrested a man after an assault at Anstey Hill this morning.

Just before 9.30am on Friday 3 July, police were called to the Anstey Hill Recreation Park after reports a woman was assaulted by an unknown man on the running track between Newman’s Ruins and Torture Hill.

The woman was able to run away but sustained a cut to her leg. She was taken to Modbury Hospital for treatment.

With assistance from Park Rangers, police conducted a search of the area. A short time later, police located and arrested a man in a car park close by.

The 51-year-old man from no fixed place has been charged with assault. He was bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on 4 September.

Police are investigating any links to a similar incident at Morialta Falls on June 20.
