Assault police investigationin Brisbane City

Police are seeking public assistance regarding an ongoing investigation into alleged assault and obstruct police offences committed in the Brisbane City Botanical Gardens on Saturday, September 18.

About 1pm, police attended the Gardens in response to an unauthorised protest.

While at the event, officers arrested a 55-year-old Greenslopes man for allegedly obstructing police.

As police were arresting the man it will be alleged a number of other men also engaged in violent and/or obstructive behaviour towards police.

Four police officers were assaulted during the altercation.

Police have released images of six men who may be able to assist with this investigation. Anyone with information regarding the identities and current whereabouts of the men is urged to contact police (details below).

The 55-year-old man was charged with two counts of serious assault police officer, one count of assault police officer and one count of unlawful possession of restricted drugs.

He is due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on October 6.
