ATM stolen during ram raid; investigation underway at Queanbeyan, NSW

An investigation is underway after an ATM was stolen during a ram raid in Queanbeyan overnight.

About 1.40am (Tuesday 23 June 2020), a stolen Lexus rammed the front of a takeaway store on Uriarra Road, Queanbeyan.

Two men exited the vehicle and entered the store through the damaged front door, before taking an ATM and fleeing in the Lexus SUV.

Officers from Monaro Police District attended and commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A short time later, ACT Policing located the ATM and Lexus, burnt out, on Peter Cullen Way, Wright.

A crime scene has been established and will undergo forensic examination.

Anyone with information, or who may have witnessed any suspicious activity at the time of the incident, is urged to come forward.
