Attempted murder charge at Chermside, QLD

A 43-year-old man has been charged following a suspicious house fire at Chermside earlier this week.

Around 4am on Wednesday, February 5, police and emergency services were called to a house well alight on Bundal Street.

A 50-year-old Chermside woman was rescued from the building by firefighters after attempts by neighbours were unsuccessful.

She was transported to hospital in a critical condition.

Yesterday afternoon, detectives arrested and charged a 43-year-old Spring Hill man with attempted murder (domestic violence offence) and arson (domestic violence offence).

He was denied police bail and will appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court this morning.
