Attempted murder charge at Grantham

Gatton detectives have charged a woman following an investigation into an attempted murder at Grantham early yesterday morning, April 22.

Police will allege the 39-year-old stabbed a man in the neck at a house on Victor Street around 4:15am.

It is further alleged, prior to the assault, the Laidley woman has killed a cat that also lived at the house.

The 50-year-old Grantham man was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious condition.

Police will allege the parties are known to each other.

Yesterday afternoon detectives charged a 39-year-old Laidley woman with attempted murder, enter dwelling with intent to commit an indictable offence, serious animal cruelty and possession of a knife.

She is due to reappear in the Toowoomba Magistrates Court on April 26.
