Police have charged two juvenile offenders following the alleged attempted robbery of a business store in Townsville early this morning, 10 August.
It will be alleged around 2.40am, a girl entered a store on Flinders Street, selected multiple items from the shelves and attempted to leave without paying, before an employee intervened.
It will be further alleged the girl had assaulted the employee, before a boy entered the business and presented a machete and threatened the employee, and the pair fled the scene on foot.
Police conducted patrols and took both offenders into custody a short time later near the intersection of Dean Street and McIlwraith Street, South Townsville.
A 12-year-old Mount Louisa girl has been charged with one count of attempted armed robbery in company and two counts of wilful damage.
She is scheduled to attend the Townsville Childrens Court on 14 August.
A 15-year-old South Townsville boy has been charged with one count each of attempted armed robbery in company, threatening violence and stealing.
He is scheduled to attend Townsville Childrens Court today, 10 August.
