Police from Melbourne East are investigating an attempted theft and assault from a bottle shop in Brunswick East.
Investigators allege a man attempted to steal a bottle of alcohol on 11 January about 6pm.
When approached by security the man has pushed the security guard causing him to fall over before running out of the store.
The man is described as Caucasian in appearance and was wearing a blue and white striped shirt with tan pants and black shoes at the time.
He is aged in his 20s and has short brown hair with trimmed facial hair and had black glasses on at the time of the incident.
Investigators have released CCTV footage and images of a man who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.
