Applications are now open for Yarra Ranges Council’s 2021 Australia Day Awards, with residents being encouraged to nominate anyone they see doing great work to improve their community.
Yarra Ranges Council CEO, Tammi Rose, said the awards were a chance for community members to be formally recognised and celebrated for their efforts.
“There are so many people in the Yarra Ranges who give back so much to their community,” Ms Rose said.
“These people could be volunteering at your local sporting club or community group, dedicating their time to benefit others, or simply just making the Yarra Ranges an even better place to live.”
“Despite this new COVID way of living there’s still so much good going on in our community, and in many instances these people are really lending a hand to some of our most vulnerable residents in these times.
“I encourage anyone who has a spare moment, to have a think about someone in their community who they see doing amazing things and to fill out a nomination form so we can showcase and recognise their efforts.”
