Australia’s leading automotive parts supplier’s new home in Hume City

GPC Asia Pacific officially opened their brand new 39,000 sqm, state-of-the-art Distribution Centre in the LOGOS’ Broadmeadows Logistics Estate on Thursday 29 June.

The Distribution Centre’s advanced technology and operation systems will support GPC Asia Pacific in achieving the company’s goals for Australia-wide growth, cementing their spot as a leader in the automotive parts market.

Mayor of Hume City, Cr. Joseph Haweil was joined by GPC Asia Pacific’s Managing Director and Group CEO, Rob Cameron and LOGOS Head of Australia and New Zealand, Darren Searle for a ribbon cutting ceremony and facility tour as part of the official opening.

The GPC Asia Pacific facility will deliver a major economic boost to Hume, forecasting the creation of more than 200 ongoing jobs and more than 50 contract roles.

More jobs for residents will create an economic flow-on effect for Hume as GPC Asia Pacific continues to grow, furthering the development of the LOGOS Broadmeadows Logistics Estate.

Once finished, the LOGOS Broadmeadows Logistics Estate will be the first industrial estate in Victoria to target a Green Star Communities rating. It will house around 127,000 square metres of sustainable, premium warehousing spaces as well as an on-site cafe, local retail amenities, parking and access to public transport. Current tenants include Allied Express and Holman Logistics.

With a focus on sustainability throughout the estate’s development, 98% of the materials from the demolition of the existing buildings were recycled. Furthermore, Colorbond roofing materials were used to reduce the heat island effect and a minimum of 98kW solar panels have been installed on all facilities within the estate.

The success of the LOGOS Broadmeadows Logistics Estate is a true representation of Hume moving towards a Circular City and marks an exciting new chapter in line with that legacy.
