Australian Koala Foundation welcomes eight new Koala Joeys for Adoption

The Australian Koala Foundation (AKF) is thrilled to announce that a new cohort of eight adorable joeys has joined the Koala adoption program just in time for Christmas. Colt, Cooper, Jensen, Apollo, Kaiser, Bobbi, Leuca, and Kasper are the new cuties that reside at Paradise Country on the Gold Coast.

“Koalas are just like us, each one is unique and has its own distinctive personality,” said Chair of the Australian Koala Foundation, Deborah Tabart OAM. “Some Koalas that I’ve met throughout my 33-year career have been absolute characters.”

Bobbi is the mischievous one of the bunch. With a rambunctious nature she can appear like an innocent and well-behaved young lady, but when the keepers take their eyes off her she is almost certainly up to something.

Cooper, on the other hand, understands the value of a comfortable branch and a good day’s snooze. His relaxed and well-rested nature is in contrast with the adventurous Jensen, who is a complete thrill-seeker. Jensen loves to journey precariously across the elevated treetops without a care in the world. His favourite pastime is running for fun when there are no fresh gum leaves or cuddles on offer.

Adopting a Koala is a rewarding gift, perfect for a friend, loved one or the person who has everything already. It is also a fantastic last minute Christmas present, as a digital adoption certificate can be emailed if ordered before the 22nd of December. Every adoption goes towards AKF’s work of helping save Koalas in the wild. So, by adopting one of these gorgeous Koalas, you will be helping their less fortunate wild cousins.

“The whole world loves Koalas. How could you not?” Ms Tabart said. “They are all so adorable in their own unique way, and wild Koalas need our support now more than ever.”
