Author Talk: Sharyn Munro and Her New Collection of Short Stories

Cessnock City Council is inviting members of the community to attend a special talk with award-winning author Sharyn Munro at Cessnock City Library on Thursday 16 November, 5.30-6.30pm.

Sharyn will talk about her new collection of short stories, Peeping Through My Fingers – Glimpses of Childhood, Old Age and the Dangerous Bits in Between.

Library Services Co-ordinator, Rose-marie Walters says Sharyn has an interesting story to tell, with the event promising to be an engaging evening.

“Sharyn’s talk will explore her amazing life here in the Hunter Valley including living in a solar-powered, mud brick cabin, and her writing experiences,” said Ms Walters.

“Don’t miss the opportunity to meet this award-winning author and to be inspired and delighted by her stories.”

Sharyn will also share some of her award-winning fictional short stories that will delight attendees as she turns from observing her wild animal neighbours to write about her fellow humans in their hopeful stumble through time. Linked by short commentaries on her own evolving life, these stories are as candid as her readers have come to expect.

Copies of her latest book will be available to purchase for $25 at the event.

Bookings are essential and can be made via the Library website here or by calling Cessnock Library on 4993 4399 or Kurri Kurri Library on 4937 1638.
