Macquarie Regional Library will host award-winning author Tess Woods for an in-conversation author talk on Monday 21 September 2026 from 5pm at Dubbo Library.
Tess Woods is an Australian author who writes contemporary fiction based around the relationships and the bonds between women. Tess Woods has written five novels including her latest book, The Cairo Bridal Shop which was released on 1 September.
Macquarie Regional Library Manager, Kathryn McAlister said Tess Woods will be discussing her latest novel, The Cairo Bridal Shop, which is about three sisters ready to break the shackles of tradition to fight for their futures.
“Tess Woods creates characters that feel authentic and that readers can connect with.
“They are relatable, emotional layered and more like real people than fictional characters,” Ms McAlister said.
Tess Woods’ previous book The Venice Hotel became an instant Top 10 Australian best seller and was shortlisted in the 2025 Australian Book Industry Book Awards for General Fiction Book of the Year. It was also voted ninth in the 2025 Better Reading Top 100 Books.
“Author talks at Macquarie Regional Library are always well attended. People enjoy hearing from authors about the writing process and the story behind the story.”
“This event is a great excuse to get a group of friends together and enjoy an afternoon at the library listening to a popular Australian author,” Ms McAlister said.
