Backing our Tasmanian exporters

Jeremy Rockliff, Minister for Trade

TasPorts is again backing the Tasmanian exporting community as this year’s major partner for the 2022 Tasmanian Export Awards.

The awards are a showcase of Tasmania’s high-quality export offerings and the people behind the ideas that take Tasmanian products to the world.

Tasmania’s export sector is booming, with merchandise exports at a record high of $4.7 billion, and these awards are appropriate and well-deserved recognition of the great work they do in taking our world-class produce to the world.

As an integral link in the exporting supply chain, TasPorts understands the range and variety of Tasmania’s exports and the important role our exporting businesses play in maintaining a strong local economy.

More than 150 exporters, business and industry representatives are set to celebrate this year’s award winners and recognise the achievements of our exporting community at a gala presentation event in Hobart next month.

This year, 10 category award winners will be announced to go into the national awards to compete against other state and territory winners, and four separate state-based awards will also be presented.

Tasmanian exporters continue to enjoy success in international markets, worth a record high $4.75 billion over the past 12 months in goods exports alone.

Tasports CEO Anthony Donald said:

“Tasmania’s export sector continues to be an innovative and exciting sector, and we are proud to support you all through our multi-port system.

“To support our exporters and industries, TasPorts continues to invest in our State’s port infrastructure because we know how important a robust multi-port system is for the Tasmanian community and economy.”
