Access points to the region’s beaches are reopening after MidCoast Council crews have worked diligently to repair damage that occurred in last week’s big swells.
All access points at One Mile, Hallidays Point and Diamond beaches have been opened and South Blueys access is expected to be reopened Friday afternoon, 9 August.
Access points that remain closed, but are expected to be completed by next week, include Old Bar main pedestrian access, Old Bar Surf Life Saving Club vehicle access and The Boulevarde accesses at Jimmys Beach in Hawks Nest.
The Boulevarde in Hawks Nest is still under restricted access to residents who live in the area while Council continues to investigate funding opportunities to complete the repair work.
In the meantime, the previously scheduled sand replenishment on Jimmys Beach will go ahead next week on Monday 12 August.
