Becoming child-safe organisation

MidCoast Council

MidCoast Council is asking for community feedback on an action plan designed to build child-safe practices across the organisation.

“Ensuring that children feel safe at all times when in our facilities and accessing our services is an important priority for us,” said Council’s General Manager, Adrian Panuccio.

In 2018, Council committed to become a child safe organisation, as it adopted the Child Protection policy.

“Since then we’ve developed a draft action plan that will guide our efforts to ensuring that we are child-safe,” said Mr Panuccio.

Our Draft Child Safe Action Plan outlines actions Council will take to ensure its meets the 10 standards which form the basis of new legislation as part of the NSW Child-Safe Scheme.

The Child Safe Action Plan is about making Council’s activities and services child safe so we’re asking our community to let us know if there are any other actions relating to Council activities you think we should include in the draft plan.
