From Monday, 28 February to Friday, 29 April, Fawckner Drive will be closed to vehicle traffic in both directions on various days to facilitate road construction work. Motorists are advised to pay attention to the changing traffic management conditions throughout the duration of the works.
Vehicle access will remain available for the Sir Edward ‘Weary’ Dunlop Learning Centre (Benalla Library) until Monday 4 April, with limited traffic management in place between Monday 4 April until Friday 29 April.
The Fawckner Drive carpark will only be accessible via one entry and exit point. During the works the available access will change from the Nunn Street entry to the driveway nearer the Senior Citizens Centre as the works progress south along Fawckner Drive.
Pedestrian detours will be in place from the Fawckner Drive carpark to the Central Business District shopping precinct. Patrons are advised to park elsewhere during this time if possible.
Patrons accessing the Senior Citizens Centre are advised to take care and note that access will only be available via the rear carpark (entry via Carrier Street South).
Access to the Lake Benalla foreshore, skatepark and caravan parking area will still be available, however, we strongly advise motorists to prepare for delays and to park elsewhere if possible. We ask that pedestrians consider accessing the lake foreshore from an alternative location, such as the Botanical Gardens via Wedge and Deas Street, or the Benalla Showgrounds via Arundel Street.
Please note there will be no vehicle access to the rear of the Benalla Post Office during this time. Benalla Bus Lines PTV service, Nunn Street interchange will be closed for the duration of the works. The alternative interchanges will be at both Carrier Street and Smyth Street.
