Bendigo Visitor Centre has won a Travellers’ Choice Award 2022 from Tripadvisor, placing it in the top rated 10 per cent of listings on the travel recommendation digital site.
Bendigo Visitor Centre is owned and operated by the City of Greater Bendigo and has won several Victorian Tourism awards for its high-quality visitor services.
The centre is currently rated second out of 83 things to do in Bendigo, with an overall 4.5-star rating on Tripadvisor.
The Travellers’ Choice Award celebrates businesses that have received great traveller reviews from around the globe on Tripadvisor over the last 12 months.
Visitor Services Manager Jemma Docherty said the Bendigo Visitor Centre provided a consistently high level of services to visitors.
“We have a great team of dedicated professionals and volunteers, who staff the centre seven days a week, every day except Christmas Day,” Ms Docherty said.
“Emerging from the COVID-19 pandemic, Bendigo has become of the most popular must-see destination for visitors offering so many great events, experiences, shows and exhibitions, including the exclusive blockbuster exhibition Elvis: Direct from Graceland at Bendigo Art Gallery.
“Our Visitor Centre has been the busiest it has ever been with a high demand for our services from visitors from across the state and elsewhere looking to make the most of their stay here. To win this award is a great acknowledgment of our friendly and professional team and the high-quality customer service we provide every day.
“We offer booking services for tours, accommodation and experiences and provide great advice for any visitor wanting to see the best of Greater Bendigo.
“We are continually upskilling our volunteers, so we are providing the best possible experiences.
“Our Uniquely Bendigo retail offering is also very popular and celebrates producers and artisans in our City of Gastronomy section. The Living Arts Space has also grown in popularity with new artists and the opportunity to buy art works.
“It’s wonderful for our staff and volunteers to be recognised in this way.”
The Bendigo Visitor Centre also won a Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Award in 2020.
