Kiama Council
Kiama Council advises motorists against a detour around ‘The Bends between Gerringong and Kiama on the Princes Highway provided by Google Maps.
Motorists heading north have been using Google Maps to find an alternative route between Gerringong and Kiama due to yesterday’s landslip blocking northbound traffic.
Google Maps has been showing Hoddles Road and Saddleback Mountain Road as a way to bypass ‘The Bends’.
This is wrong.
Hoddles Road is a no through road, ending in a walking track.
Council has contacted Google to rectify the error.
Motorists are advised to remain on the Princes Highway, with one northbound lane now open.
