Construction of the Blue Gums to Eildon Recreational Trail is set to begin from mid-2022. Originally, we were hoping to have the Project completed by then, however due to challenges in the construction industry, including skilled labour and material shortages due to COVID-19, we’re now aiming to have the Project completed by the end of the year.
We sought your feedback on locations for seating, drinking fountains, and tree planting along the Trail in November. We would like to thank the community for the valuable input and feedback provided.
Based on your feedback, we’ll position four seating benches along the Trail, spaced roughly every 650 metres. These benches will be made from recycled timber, which is environmentally friendly and very easy to maintain. Drinking fountains will also be installed at the beginning and end of the Trail. Additional trees will also be planted along the Trail. Council’s arborist will use feedback from the community to determine appropriate locations and species of trees, shrubs and ground covers that best suits the environment.
