The $12.5 million transformation of Boat Harbour Beach is now complete, marking a major milestone for one of Tasmania’s best-known coastal destinations.
At the centre of the project is the new Boat Harbour Beach Surf Life Saving Club and community facility, which includes a café, upgraded public amenities and improved parking.
The surrounding foreshore precinct has also been upgraded, with improved footpaths, accessible beach access, recreation areas and landscaping.
The upgrade follows the Boat Harbour Beach Master Plan that was developed through extensive community consultation and addresses ageing infrastructure, while protecting the distinctive coastal character of the area.
The Australian Government has contributed $4.5 million through the Priority Community Infrastructure Program, alongside $2.7 million from the Tasmanian Government and approximately $5.3 million from Waratah-Wynyard Council.
