About 11.40pm Tuesday (19 June 2023), emergency services were called to an address on Riddles Brush Road, Johns River following reports of a house fire.
Fire and Rescue NSW extinguished the fire, which was contained within the house.
Following a search, the body of a man was located at the rear of the property outside of the house.
The man is yet to be formally identified, but is believed to be aged in his 70s.
Officers attached to Manning-Great Lakes Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
