The body of a woman has been located in bushland following the search for a missing bushwalker in the Southern Highlands today.
On Wednesday 12 August 2026, officers attached to The Hume Police District commenced inquiries following reports of a missing bushwalker in the Nattai National Park, about 60km north-west of Mittagong.
A week-long multi-agency search was conducted in search of the hiker.
Following an extensive search, about 11.30am today (Thursday 20 August 2026), the body of a woman was located in bushland.
While yet to be formally identified, the body is believed to be that of the 18-year-old woman.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
