The body of a woman has been located following a fire in Sydney’s north-west today.
About 11am (Thursday 15 June 2023), emergency services were called to a unit block on Church Street, Ryde, following reports of a fire.
Fire and Rescue NSW extinguished the fire, which was contained within the unit.
Following a search of the unit, the body of a woman was located inside. She is yet to be formally identified.
An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fire is underway and anyone with information is urged to contact police or the Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
