Police divers have recovered the body of a child reported missing in the river at Concord.
A search operation commenced after the body of a man was found shortly before 11.45am today (Saturday 13 June 2026), in waters off Bayview Park, Concord.
Officers attached to Burwood Police Area Command were told the man had been seen in a small boat with a child shortly before his body was discovered.
A command post was established at the scene and a search operation commenced; her body was located about 5.30pm.
Both are yet to be formally identified; however, information provided indicates the man is in his 40s, while the girl is believed to be aged six or seven.
Officers are providing support to the child’s mother, as inquiries continue.
