Body of teenager recovered, NSW

Police have recovered the body of a teenager who went missing while swimming at Kentlyn, near Campbelltown.

Just before 2.40pm (Wednesday 20 January 2021), emergency services were called to The Basin on Georges River Road, Kentlyn, following reports a 15-year-old boy had failed to resurface.

Police have been told the boy was swimming with three friends when he went missing.

Emergency services were alerted and officers from Campbelltown City Police Area Command, along with police divers, commenced a search for the teen.

About 5.10pm, the boy’s body was recovered.

A report is being prepared for the coroner.
