Body of woman located; man charged with murder in Woodcroft

A man will appear in court today charged over the alleged murder of a woman in Sydney’s west yesterday.

About 1.10pm (Saturday 2 May 2020), officers from Blacktown Police Area Command were called to Timbaram Way, Woodcroft, about 5km west of Blacktown, following a concern for welfare report.

Upon arrival, the body of a 69-year-old woman was located in the garage.

A crime scene was established, which was examined by specialist forensic officers, and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident commenced.

When PolAir were called to assist, they located a vehicle police were searching for at Blacktown Railway Station.

Following inquiries, a 73-year-old man was arrested at Richmond Railway Station about 3.30pm.

He was taken to Windsor Police Station and charged with murder (DV).

Police will allege the man and woman were in a domestic relationship.

The man was refused bail and is due to appear before Parramatta Bail Court today (Sunday 3 May 2020).
