Boosting Territory’s COVID Defences

Thousands of booster shots have been put into the arms of Territorians providing an extra layer of protection against COVID-19

As at November 25, more than 5645 booster doses have been administered in the Northern Territory.

There has been solid demand for booster shots in the Territory with more than 2100 doses administered between November 8-14.

More than 2100 booster dose appointments were also booked between November 4-14.

More than 95 per cent of Territorians have received their first dose and 86 per cent are fully vaccinated.

The remote rollout this week reached a key milestone with first doses administered to 81 per cent of remote Territorians while 66 per cent are fully vaccinated.

Every fully vaccinated Territorian aged 18 and over is recommended to receive their booster at least six months after receiving a second dose to maintain immunity against COVID-19.

Booster doses are available at NT Health vaccination clinics, GP clinic, respiratory clinics, pharmacies and Aboriginal Health Clinics.
