Borough Community Grants Program returns for 2022-23

Community groups across the Borough of Queenscliffe will have the chance to share in up to $20,000 of grant funding, with Council’s annual Community Grants Program now open for submissions.

The program, which has distributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to local organisations since its inception in 1998, offers individual grants of up to $2,000 for projects and activities that enhance the wellbeing of Borough residents.

This year’s assessment guidelines also promote projects that support the objectives of Council’s Climate Emergency Response Plan, encouraging submissions that protect our environment and address climate change issues.

Queenscliffe Mayor Ross Ebbels said the program is about more than just handing over cheques.

“From itemising costings to identifying community needs, the Community Grants Program empowers organisations to be economically, environmentally and socially sustainable,” Cr Ebbels said.

“Council’s reference group, who assess and recommend projects to Council is looking forward to receiving applications with clear objectives and achievable outcomes that benefit the whole of the Borough.”

The 2022–23 program is open to local non-profit groups who are able to match the grant amount on a dollar-for-dollar basis, either in cash or through in-kind labour and materials. Applications opened on 2 May 2022 and close on 12 June 2022, with successful applicants notified in mid-August 2022 ahead of a presentation ceremony.
