A teenage boy will face court next month as an investigation continues into an alleged break and enter in Taree last week.
About 1.30am on Tuesday 11 August 2026, a group of people allegedly forced entry to a bakery on Milligan Street, Taree.
During the incident, an amount of cash, food and drink items were allegedly stolen by the group.
Police attached to Manning/Great Lakes Police District attended a short time later and commenced inquiries into the incident.
Following extensive inquiries, investigators executed a search warrant at a home in Taree on Friday 11 August 2026.
During the search, police allegedly located and seized several items of interest in relation to the incident.
A 16-year-old boy was arrested and taken to Taree Police Station where he was charged with aggravated break and enter dwelling in company steal less than or equal to $60000.
He was granted strict conditional bail to appear before a children’s court on Thursday 10 September 2026.
During the search warrant, police also allegedly located and seized 7.06g methamphetamine, digital scales, and clear resealable bags.
A 54-year-old woman was arrested and taken to Taree Police Station where she was charged with possess prohibited drug, and supply prohibited drug (greater than indictable and less than commercial quantity).
She was granted strict conditional bail to appear before Taree Local Court on Tuesday 22 September 2026.
Inquiries into the break and enter are continuing.
