Boy dies after being hit by car at Doonside, NSW

A child has died after being hit by a car in Sydney’s west today.

About 12.40pm (Friday 27 May 2022), emergency services were called to Richmond Road, Doonside, after reports a pedestrian had been hit by a car.

Officers attached to Blacktown Police Area Command attended, along with NSW Ambulance paramedics, and found a 6-year-old boy suffering critical injuries.

He was treated at the scene before being taken to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead where he later died.

The male driver of the car is assisting police with inquiries.

A crime scene was established and has been examined by the Crash Investigation Unit.
