Boy Dies After St Marys Crash

A boy has died following a single-vehicle crash at St Marys yesterday.

Emergency services were called to Christie Street about 3.20am (Friday 26 April 2024), after a Hyundai Getz hit a parked truck and trailer.

The driver of the car, a 38-year-old woman, and her back-seat passenger, a five-year-old boy, were treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to hospital in critical conditions.

A crime scene was established by officers attached Nepean Police Area Command and forensically examined by specialist officers attached to the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit.

Police have now been told the child died overnight.

An investigation is now underway into the circumstances surrounding the crash and a report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
