Boy to face court over hoax threat, South Australia

A teen has been arrested after an incident in Renmark today.

Just before 12pm Friday 11 November police were called to a High School in Renmark after an alleged threat was made to the school via social media.

Staff evacuated students, while police searched the grounds and detectives attended the suspect’s home address.

The suspect, a 14-year-old local boy, was located and arrested at his home address and is currently talking to police.

The school was deemed safe and students returned to their class rooms without incident.

While the incident has been deemed a hoax, police wish to reassure the Community that reports of this nature will be dealt with swiftly and with zero tolerance.
