Break and enter at Gracemere

Police are appealing for information after a front loader was used during a break in at the Gracemere Waste Facility this morning.

Around 4.30am, the dozer was used to smash through the office at the transfer station on Allen Rd.

Originally the offenders attempted to use a power tool to access the onsite safe but once unsuccessful, turned their attention to the keys for the machinery.

They then used the vehicle to drive into the demountable building, which caused the wall to collapse and items to dislodge.

The vehicle was left idling and they fled in an unknown direction with the safe.

Anyone with dashcam vision or further information is urged to contact police.

Investigations are continuing.
