Breaker stumped by police at Morphett Vale, South Australia

A man will face court today after he allegedly broke into a southern suburbs cricket club last night.

Just before 10pm on Sunday 10 February, an observant member of the public contacted police after seeing a man breaking into the Morphett Vale Sporting Club on Wheatsheaf Road and placing several items in a car.

Southern District patrols acting as a night watchman were sent in, arriving just in time to ‘bowl over’ a purple Ford sedan leaving the sporting club.

A search of the car uncovered a bottle of alcohol and sporting equipment all allegedly stolen from inside the cricket clubrooms.

A 38-year-old man from O’Halloran Hill was arrested and charged with serious criminal trespass, theft and going equipped to commit and offence.

The arrested man was refused police ‘bail’ and will appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court later today.
